I had success running #meshtastic during #dragoncon in Atlanta. Most of the con there were ~60 nodes directly reachable and 500+ visible in the metro area. Which is pretty cool.
I'm now in the four corners area outside of Orlando, and there is zero activity that I can see. I had to reinstall the regular (non-DragonCon) firmware, and maybe I screwed that up. Or maybe I'm just too far out in the boonies.
I'm still pretty new, so if anyone in the Orlando area has tips, reach out!

not attending #worldcon / #laconv this year... it's the week before #dragoncon starts. even sadder, i just realized that worldcon 2027 in montréal is on the exact same dates as dragoncon.
(dragoncon is the annual family vacation, so it's not negotiable)

The DragonCon schedule is live!
As always, I'll be focusing on the Space, Science, Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), Robotics and Maker tracks, plus the live performances. On the music front, Charming Disaster is performing at 8:30pm on Sunday (and 4pm on Saturday)—their show was wonderful last year. And, of course, on Monday there is Robot Battles, one of the longest running robotic battle competitions in the world!
As usual, there's just too much to do...
