explaining to the team back home about #worldcon. they're actually, collectively, the most fannish lot i've worked with, but worldcon (and the world science fiction society), aren't as much on the average fan's radar as, say, the various comic cons... which is too bad in some (but not all) ways...

i somehow hadn’t heard of the torment nexus until this weekend at #worldcon but it’s popped up frequently including in editor Neil Clarke’s hugo acceptance speech—in which he likened it to generative ai and the shit ton of content he’s had to wade through to do his job as a result of it…

i love craft and maker panels as much as just about anything. for this one, i seriously regret not having a notepad…

#worldcon kicked off with dune! the musical. i enthusiastically recommend it if you have a chance to see it.

it’s not quite #worldcon yet so we went to the national piping center in glasgow, and I picked up some books and a few pointers.

as fate would have it, the international piping festival is next week in glasgow, as well, so i’ll be doing a wee bit of that, too!
